I have both a PC and a Mac. I've installed a network card into the PC and set up TCP/IP in both Mac and PC so that they can see each other (e.g. PING works). Do I need anything extra to be able to copy files between the two computers. If not, what do I need to do ?

Probably the most user friendly solution is a product called "Dave" by Thursby software. It uses native TCP/ip and does not require Appletalk to be turned on. This is usually a good thing for audio programs. Sort of expensive at around $150. Getting into FTP can require more computer/network expertise.

You can use Cute FTP..WS Ftp..those are the two progs I reccomend using

File sharing thru FTP should work with no problem..just make sure you have a standard cross over ethernet cable..If you are on OSX than it would be a hell of a lot easier since IP configurations are more like Windows at that point. I have never dont this but I did ask someone who has and they were kind of hesitant to say yes it should work and that burning a CD or using a zip to share would be easier...let me know if you cant get it to work and I'll be persistent in getting the correct answers for you
