The one thing I am always amazed by is when I see pictures of studios is the lack of cables and cords. I wonder if it is all cleaned up and or moved into strategic positioning in order for the camera to avoid the mess just to look good.
Anyway, I am getting ready to try and solve my cord problem. I have been putting this off for about 2 years and I figure it is time to tame the beast behind my desk. It is the usual tangle of audio chords, snakes, power chords, wall warts and midi cables. What I am looking for is advice on a good system of keeping the mess under control. I seem to go thru this every couple of years. I am not quite sure how it happens, I guess moving gear, adding gear, changing patching set ups and probably just being a little lazy. Does anyone else have this problem? Maybe it's just me.
Any tips or tricks that have worked well for you would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Steve

I can't even walk through my room right now. It's like some sort of trap or something.
Most studio's have the wiring under the floor, at least the one I helped build was like that. I think when I build my set up I am gonna try to keep the rack mounted gear under the console, instead of behind the chair,as to keep it all together.
