Having a set of Trakkers and an STC-8... they're both useful, but I've found the Trakkers a tad more versatile.

It of course depends on the song, but very often I've found a pair of Trakkers across the 2-bus can add a forwardness and dimension that few units can come close to.

It's not as "clean" a compression as something like the STC-8... but it will net you a good variety of tones, at least one of which will make your mix jump out of the speakers in a manner that will probably please you.
