I wanted to find out if there is a way to use my Korg Triton Le with a trigger on drums?
The drum sounds are really phat on the Triton and I wanted to use a trigger when I record.
Anybody doing something simular to this already?

The D4 is an Alesis drum module. IT has inputs for triggers and converts them to a midi signal. You can then plug your keyboard into that or just record directly to midi then assign that track to your triton's drum sounds. I have used that in the past as well as the DM5. The sounds on them are kind of weak in my opinion but the interface is very good for getting the midi into your computer for whatever use you have.

There is a device by Roland called a TMC6. It is a trigger to MIDI converter; It will allow you to hook up triggers to the Triton LE and then assign them to specific notes.

Your other option as afore mentioned is to get hold of something like an Alesis D4, Roland TD6 etc... You will need something that has trigger inputs.

its that guy again wrote: Not live use. Mainly for recording.

sorry
live
you missed the point

Even where recording ... you are live !
I may use samples of other drum modules
BUT
when recording I monitor the Alesis D4 sounds as the latency is to great via midi/software/reason/modules etc ...
the Alesis sounds are just used to listen too WHILE recording and then in the Post Edit I can do what I want.

Total Post Edit is when I have a recording of a real kit and then use the triggers to creat a Midi file or track...
then map the keys to any other unit ... re-map or key-map

you will find a few post on this subject down in the Sound and Rhythm section

hope that makes sense
