Ok so i just got Cubase SX, and i have no idea how to use it... but i'll figure all that out. My problem is that it's not recording the sounds i'm playing in. What i've done, is connect my guitar to my PC through the 'microphone socket' at the back of the computer using an adapter. Cubase isn't picking it up, but it is picking up like the sounds my speakers make when someone signs into msn... any help?

Thanks a lot.

My first advice would be to first run the guitar through some sort of preamp. (I personnally like to use an amp modeler like a J-station or POD) Secondly, i would also advise upgrading your soundcard, it will be well worth it. You should be able to pick up a decent one for around $100. I use a m-audio fw1814, which is sorda pricey but they have lesser expensive stuff like the fast track usb. http://www.m-audio.com

hope i was of some help

Usually reading the getting started manual that came with it would be a huge help. And you will learn how to set-up a monitoring signal to be recorded. I dont understand how everybody is too lazy to read an operation manual but yet can read a forum on something they can simply find in a manual :-?
