I have DP and I have a G5 tower that I use now. I'm considering purchasing a laptop for tracking on location. I would be using it along with a MOTU 896HD firewire interface which I already have. I was thinking of getting a second MOTU or maybe a Mackie Onyx 1640 with firewire option to do 16 tracks at 24/96. Has anybody been able to track at 24/96 with an iBook? Any iBook success stories with another configuration? Let me know what you think of this. Thanks!

I use an iBook with an MBox for mobile stuff all the time with no problems. That's only 2 tracks at a time though.
