Definately the Stedman.

I recently purchased a Pauly popscreen and find that it controls the plosives very well and does not take off the highs. It is expensive and perhaps a Popless (brand) might do the same as it too has double screen.

i recently used an old christmas-hat, that i spread over a piece of plastic from a lid from a plastic jar of salad the singer ate before the session. the shield was taped to a drumstick that was taped to a speakerstand.
of course, that was because we didnt have the stedman..

then again...it might have been the salad :-? :?

I have the steadman too and love it. But, are there any dif (sonicly) between the steadman metal mesh and a panty hose like pop filter?

Can someone comment on the Sabra POP filter ? They ship to India and i might be intreasted.

Also, so far i have asking vocalists to sing angled a little off the mic, to avoid pops. Works well. How much of a difference will there be if I were to iinvest in a POP filter and have the vocalist sing facing the mic ?

I think one of the best advantages of having a pop filter it that you can keep spit off of your expensive mics.

I recently went down to my local GC with my currently most-used general vocal mic to see if the BLUE The Pop would fit on my mic. Of course, they only had two display models that were attached to BLUE mics in the mic case.

Once they finally found the person with the key, I tried to see if it'd fit on my mic. But my mic is quite significantly too small for it! After waiting what seemed forever to get an actual price on the thing, they finally said $30! Now I knew BLUE's website sells them for $99 and so did they, but that's what kept on popping up on their computer screen. They called-over numerous managers and they all agreed to sell it to me for what the screen said! I was going to buy the other as a backup, but I was a nice guy and let the employee who was helping me buy the other since he said he has a BLUE mic.

So now my girlfriend has rigged-up my mic with a piece of old tee-shirt wrapped around so that the mic's body is thick enough in one section to attach The Pop. It works great until I figure out some other way more "nice looking" to attach it.

Anyhow, it works so well... Since I've had it, plosives are the last thing on my mind... When all the rap guys come in.

What about the Shure PopperStopper? Isn't that the most widely used? I know it's nylon, so I'm sort of curious. I hate the nylon pop-shield, especially with my new mike that has rather seismic bass. BTW I use a few silk scarves to wrap around my mics if there's ciagrette smoke in the room, and I found that these are surprisingly good.

I think some of the Blue accessories are overpriced. The shockmount for the BlueBird is identical to the one supplied with the larger Behringer mics.
