May I know if the Sabine Feedback Exterminator (FBX 2400/2410) is still widely used? I tried looking for reviews, or online shops that sells this but I hardly find any. (only 3 sellers in ebay for their supposedly new 2410 model). I tried to email them like 7x now and they never replied back.
Are they dead already? I prefer them over the dbx Feedback Suppression AFS 224 but if they are dead then i guess dbx is the only way to go (unless there is something better).
How is the performance of the dbx afs224 anyway? Do you think its at par with the Sabine FBX 2410?

Hello.
I understand why that sort of thing seems like a good idea, but Feedback Exterminators, Destroyers, Suppressors, & Ferrets all do the same thing - ruin the sound. They aggressively notch out the problem frequency, without any regard for how they will adversely affect the sound. It's like using a machete to do delicate surgery.
If you're determined to use one, the dbx works as well as any of them, and will almost certainly outlast a Behr--ger or Peavey. But honestly, I think you would be much better served by a decent EQ and any cheap frequency analyzer or RTA app. Automated feedback eliminators obviously have their place, which is as a last resort to prevent a disastrous disruptive burst of feedback. If you're routinely fighting feedback you need to ask yourself, "what am I doing wrong that is causing the feedback issue?" .
Best of luck.
