looking for a starter mic for new system using a FirePod. I need one for vocals and another for Micing amps. Any suggestions? I figured just go with a SURE SM58 to start for the vocals..
Any advice would be appreciated.
thanks!

a shure sm57 (and the sm58) will ALWAYS be a VERY good investment in your ever growing mic collection... and you will always find a good use for it, recording whatever, really... even if you have at a later stage a bucked load of Neumanns, senns, akgs or whatever... for thousand of dollars...
go grab one... it's a very good mic, specially for a start! as it hardly wan't "GET OLD" within your collection.
If you're looking for cheap get a sm57 use it for vocals and amp
