Hi all. I am a drummer/aspiring studio-tech. I plan to add a digital drum repertoire to my studio. I know that the possibilities are boundless. I use Reason and know some about digital drum re-fills.
I also feel somewhat restricted when laying down beats on a keyboard.
I've played on some V-kits but only minutes at a time while in the music store.
I want, "industry standard," digital drum sounds. What I'm looking for are sounds used in modern rock and hip hop rap. Examples: Dr. Dre's beats, Nine Inch Nails drums, Tool drums.
Would you list pros/cons on the following or any other products out there? Including Digital V-Kits, modules, software based intruments.

Drumkit from hell superior (DFHS) rules for acoustic drum sounds. It's beyond amazing. I trigger it from my drumkat kit as well as the impulse drum machine in Ableton Live for electronic sounds. Best rig ever. Amazing.

I would like some of the new HiHat software in the newer units from dDrum and Kat and V-Drums
do lots of research as this is constantly changing
BUT second hand stuff is well worth a look
