I just dug out my old Tascam 112 cassette recorder that's been sitting in the store which I bought in the mid 90s - and I've done a comparison between something recorded in my DAW at 48K, 32 bit floating point, then this file re-imported as a 320 MP3, and then the .wav recorded onto the Tascam, reimported back to the DAW.
I will make the audio file that was compiled available as soon as I can, but here's the video. Information? Or just a bit of history? I'm not sure.

Fun video down memory lane!
I don't miss using cassettes but I sure miss the tape area. It was the best years to be a recording and performing musician. We could actually earn a decent living in our local area. Thanks for sharing this one.
We need a good image of this deck for our archives here. Paul, if you could upload an image of the Tascam 112, that would be awesome.

I love me some tascam tape recordings. They have such a charm that other low cost stuff doesn't possess.
