Came across this while web surfing, pretty cool, I like the vibe. The gear, whoa. This dude definitely puts money back into his craft! I honesty didn't know what a lot of the pieces even were.

Sounds like he is talking all about tracking. Why wouldn't he be using all that stuff? The more the better. Including a console.

Whats funny is the drums playing between segments. Its a drum machine lol, or a really programmy sounding drummer!

If the prices some of the outboard gear is getting these days dictates anything...

I did notice the big grin at the end Kurt...a little tongue in cheek maybe?...lol

Outboard analog gear...I can't get enough of it TBH...to the point I am planning ahead...buying a double sided 42U 19 inch server rack (thats 84 RU in total) to accomodate future aquisitions between now and when they put me in a wooden box in the ground;)

I'm cool w that. Let him do the 18 takes, and send me the keeper tracks for mixing!! Lol

I've grown weary of 'studio' tracking one thing at a time. My best and most fun recordings (as a musician and engineer) are always the live ones. Studio or location.

There's the sonics of the bleed and the group energy.

I'm so over the micro punch ins, and the one at a time things for a whole band. It's a tedious way to work.
