Ok, so after many months of not booting into my audio os (win2k) because of a stability problem, this afternoon I conquerored it!
After goofing off with irq/CMOS, and software updates, the stability problem was .. can you guess?
DirectX 8.0a
:) updated to 8.1 and it no longer crashes at every chance!
So,..
I crammed my RMEback in... and if I can find more time during the day, wipe the inch of dust and spider webs off my guitars, and get back to my roots! recording music! WOOT!
Now.. where'd I put that 428.. oh.. heh and a leftover 822.. somewhere.. heh

Country Music....This is generally accepted as the worlds most perfect country song, written by Steve Goodman. "You Don't Have to Call Me Darlin, Darlin."
I was drunk, the day my mama, got out of prison,
And I went, to pick her up, in the rain.....
But before I could get to the station, in my pick up,.... truck...
She got run over by a damned old train...... :D
Easy Dan, Easy..... Don't get the wrong idea... I love good
Easy Dan, Easy.....
Don't get the wrong idea... I love good country music, not the shirt and hat thing but Merle & George..Hank Sr. , Waylon Jennings..Lefty Frizzel. That's real honest music. Now, most of the crap outta Nashville is rock n' roll with a cowboy hat..if you look good on the teevee you got a record deal. Dixie Chicks rock! (except for "Landslide") That's what I meant when I told D.H. that George and Jr. were on the way to kick butt!..... btw that "You Don't Have To Call Me Darlin', Darlin' " thing...it's a real song. It was recorded by David Allen Coe, written by Steve Goodman, who also wrote "City Of New Orleans". ...... Fats

1) All music must now be recorded backwards (you can play it forwards no problem, it is just the recording part that has changed).
2) All linux boxes within 5 miles of a recording studio must be destroyed.
3) There are no more 1/8 notes, you must skip from 1/4 to 1/16, however dotted 1/16 notes are allowed, but only if necessary.
4) Rap and Hip Hop are now outlawed, and Eminem has a bounty on his head, right below Osama Bin Laden.
5) Country music (?) is also outlawed except for Ford Truck commercials (the punishment here is so severe that it deserved its own rule).
6) Only one midi file per song, and no quantizing allowed.
7) Any royalties earned from music creation, production, and marketing must be forwarded to "Double Helix" at this address.
8) When in doubt about any of this, see rule number 7 above.Cheers, and welcome back!
1) hmm already do that.
2) not gonna happen.linux has some up and coming audio software that kicks ass: ardour
Not to mention it's alot easier to admin.
3) I dont use 1/8 notes anymore. I am in 1/8 notes anonymous.Gave them up now for 4 years.
4) hmmm sounds dangerous
5) well, country music does pay the most...
6) bah! I'm also in Midi Anonymous. Real music for me...
7) Thats assuming there _IS_ any money being made
8) This rule will create an endless loop, for which you need to insert a break; somewhere

Dan,
Thanks for the reply... I initiated a letter campaign a few months ago with no success. Perhaps I can save you some time and energy and tell you who isn't accepting unsolicited material. These are the ones who returned my letters marked "Unsolicited Material not accepted....
Warner Songs, Acuff Rose, Ploygram, Chrysalis Music Group, Fortune Music Group, BMG Songs, Music Alley. I found it to be disappointing but the only way to do this is to keep slugging. I don't know of anyone who has found success in the industry without first suffering some rejection. Keep trying……….. Fats

Dan,
Yep. This is a business that is full of rejection If you get your feelings hurt easily you need to find something else to do. I think one of the reasons that publishers are so reticent to accept unsolicited material is the need to minimize their exposure to future lawsuits. That's why the only way to get to them hear your stuff anymore is through an attorney. ………… Fats
