DUDE!!!! Hehe...That is great! Been there, done that!!! Got four little ones in the nest too (well, they *were* little...my oldest is now 13! Ouch! I'm getting old!).

I have two pieces of advice for you (from an old man to a younger one...). The first one is to "communicate"! I heard that same thing before I got married, and said "yeah, whatever...no problem old man." Well, it *is* a problem. Women want to talk, we don't. It is just how we are wired. When something bothers me about my wife or my marriage (trust me, it happens all the time), I used to just keep it inside until it all boiled over...don't do it!!! Speak your piece!!!

Number two...remember that life (and marriage) is never a bed of roses 100% of the time. Be prepared that *every* marriage has its rocky times, don't expect it to be perfect...it just doesn't happen. The point of this is that you cannot just give up because times are bad...that is the easy way out. I have learned this lesson the hard way. You need to anticipate that times are going to be tough...it is just the way of the world. over 50% of marriages in the US end up in divorce, and of all divorces, something like 80 or 90% say that the number one problem in thier marriage was "money". Pretty wild, eh??? Money. It is truly the root of all evil in a marriage. Be prepared for it...I promise, it will rear its ugly head...guaranteed!

Best of luck my friend!!! I know you will be very happy! Just remember these 2 things:

Communicate, and never give up!!!

James
Well aware of those constraints! Life is a two way road and compromises have to be made any way you look at it. One of the great things about her is that she One: understands my occupation and the time put into it and the possible phone calls at any time for support help or whatever Two: is so willing to put up with it! I didn't even have to ask her or tell her this! Is that awesome or what?!!!
Brock
WTF?!!! lol! Nah, it's something I've wanted and am glad is happening. My life has become amazing lately and this is one of the completions to make it even better!
To everyone else....thanks for the congrats!!
Peace
Opus

Thanks Brock!
Told my fellow co workers today and of course the first thing that popped up was...
BACHELOR PARTY!! lmao! I think I should be scared on that one! Will I survive it is the main question!!
My fiance is steadily on the planning and we think we have a place in Chicago, where she is from originally, for Labor day next year...
when she proceded to tell me this I of course started getting quite faint! lol
Oh boy! It's truly real...it's not a dream(or shall I say nightmare! ha ha ha!)
Cheers
Opus

Whoa!!! Now that is hilareous!!! :D I'm a guitarist as well, so I got that joke!

Since we are guitar players, we can bash the bass players, eh? Like:

"How can you tell when a bass player is knocking at the door? He never knows when to come in!"

Hehe...

Gary: What do you want for a wedding present???

Oh man...I just had a thought...can you imagine a whole bunch of little Opus' running around in this forum in a few years??? Scary!!! They'll be telling everyone how to optimize their quad processor P12 systems running at 900 THZ (that's "terahertz to you and me"), 50 GHz RAM, with a couple of WD 700 TeraByte 150,000 rpm HDs, with Windows NTXP2010... (SP3 of course!!! :D

Oh man...I just had a thought...can you imagine a whole bunch of little Opus' running around in this forum in a few years??? Scary!!!

LMAO...OMG...I can just imagine it now. Opus comin' in here every other day telling tales of how proud he is to be the father of Allegro, Adagio and little Minuet(who just yesterday made her first progressions, in half steps)...LOL

Hmmm.....little versions of me running around
I'll take the wedding first before I think of little kids...diapers and countless nights of no sleep...right now I'm sleepless in anxiety! lol

Dude, I got news for ya. You will NEVER catch-up on those lost winks...LOL. You're just now in...

Stage 1 = "Sleeplessness due to anxiety" :( for the first SIX WEEKS :p . Moving on...

Stage 6 = "Sleeplessness due to the occasional Fever/Stomach virus". Ahhhh.....Stage 6. I guess you could say, this is where I am currently located. Smooth sailin', man. There is only one thing in this stage that totally baffles me. At times, I find me, of my own free will, depriving myself of the everso precious rest , of which I am so fond of. And I do this, to do nothing else, but to watch my children sleep. I appologize for my ignorance, for I lack the knowledge to explain this phenomenon. I am not, nor have I read, a poet, of such caliber, to describe the experience in words. When I met her, I thought I knew what love was. Then, we had kids(three of them). They're still teaching me...LOL

Honestly Gary, I hope the journey you two are about to start is as blessed as mine has been.

BTW, if anyone knows of a work around or service patch fix for Stage 5, please post it here. SERIOUSLY!

oh man, after reading that I feel like I just read about me in an alter reality that isn't different after all... Alter reality? Maybe it's Altar reality..
the key to women was emailed to me from a friend a couple of weeks ago and I will post it here for all to read:

How To Impress a WOMAN...
Wine her,
Dine her,
Call her,
Hug her,
Support her,
Hold her,
Surprise her,
Compliment her,
Smile at her,
Listen to her,
Laugh with her,
Cry with her,
Romance her,
Believe in her,
Cuddle with her,
Shop with her,
Give her jewelry,
Buy her flowers,
Hold her hand,
Write love letters to her,
Go to the end of the earth and back again for her.

HOW TO IMPRESS A MAN...
Show up naked. Bring food.

Hey, that's great news, Opus. Congatulations!!!

Brock, you are right on with that last post.lol. I was too stubborn to go along with the program the two times I was married and suffered the consequences.

Bachelor parties can be hazardous to your health. My buddies threw one for me and got me very drunk the night before my first wedding. They decided it would be fun to go four wheeling in the boonies. We got stuck in the mud and spent the night trying to get out. I showed up late for the wedding party prep the next day with a hellacious hangover and no sleep. Needless to say that didn't go over too well with the bride.

Opus, I'm sure you will do better with married life than I did, being older and much wiser than I was.

Good life to you!!! :c:
