I currently own the Sony MDR-EX700LP earphones but I was wondering since they are top of the line from Sony can I use these for studio use? I thought that since these are high-endearbuds that they will play exactly how the music is recorded. They normaly cost $300 but I got them for $200 on Amazon.com

Here's a link to the earbuds I own now. You can click specs and see the details on these earbuds.

Why not.

Do you like how they sound?

Can you translate what they do to a traditional system?

I generally don't like to mix on earphones. Tracking is okay...but subtle balances and phasing issues are hard to detect on earphones.

A lot of people are really digging ear buds lately. If they work for you, go for it.

On another note, how do you like yours? Are they comfortable? Do they irritate you after a little while?

I have a pair of "casual" cans for my iPod/iPhone - they're the Grado iCans. They sound f'ing fantastic but after 5 minutes on your head, you need a percoset just to keep going!

Cheers-
J.
