Samplitude 6.05 software...Sonar XL for some MIDI applications...all running off 1.6g P4, XP Home...save in 2 different formats: one I copy project to removable drive via USB (takes forever), the other project backup to CDR via Samplitude. CDs are stored offsite.

I'm on Pro Tools LE on a dual boot system with both 5.1.1 and 5.3.1 (on XP Pro) installed.
I definitely enjoy it and on my machine it's rock solid (I'm waiting for the next 6.0 release to see if I can stay on LE a little longer or point to TDM land).
For 2 Track editing I use Sound Forge 5.0 and for red book burning SF CD Architect.

I am using Nuendo, and though I haven't learned all the bells and whistles yet, I am blown away by the power and sound quality of it. I hear that Cubase is pretty much the same thing - just stripped down a bit. The new Dixie Chicks CD was done completely in Nuendo, and it sounds pretty damn good to me. If you want to hear what Nuendo is capable of, I'd check that album out (it's called "Home"). There's a lot of great stuff out there these days - exciting times for the project studio! I started recording 20 years ago with two cassette decks (things sure have changed).
