Hey all,
I'm setting up a studio with a friend of mine. We're very dedicated and have been working on some beats in reason. We've come to the conclusion to spend a bit of money on some hardware. We went to the hardware store and they said that a very professional thing to get and it would have everything we need would be the "digi 002 factory" for $2500. We're contemplating buying this with money we have saved.
Besides this factory setup, would there be anything else we need to buy, would this have all our studio needs covered for a while?
If not, what else would you recommend to get? I believe we already have about 5 different mics to mess around with.
Please mention ANYTHING that can help out on setting up a studio. We're trying to build up as much knowledge as possible to make the best buys on a hardware setup. We have all software bases covered (besides Pro Tools which comes with the digi 002 factory setup.)
Also, does Pro Tools do everything? I heard it can even replace the duties of reason, is this true?
Thanks,
Arachn1d

Don't spend $2,500 on something just because you think it will be better for you. I bet you are getting along just fine in Reason (or suck, I don't really know), and you heard some people talking about this stuff.
The music store guy is one step above a used-car salesman. A small step.
Write a contractual agreement out between you and your friend, because no matter how close you think you are now, people have lost friendships over far less than 1,250 bones.
