hey i have been doing music for about 3 years now and I'm finally about to get pro tools and other stuff, I'm building a recording studio in my room right now and i was wondering if anyone out there could help me...first off, what is the best kind of Pro Tools to buy for recording songs and producing beats? i dont want to buy the wrong thing, and, what are some good ways to soundproof your studio, i know that i probably cant take all the sound away but if anyone knows how to take most of it away, please let me know. thanks

Lots of knowledgable folks up there. I would strongly encourage you to read and follow the "pre-post" guide that Rod put up. It's especially helpful if you follow that, as it allows the gang to offer you the most concise help.
