I'll be there for all 4 days- this year I'm helping a colleague by working at his booth doing Sequoia Demos...
Anybody, stop on by and introduce yourself. I'd like to meet some of the faces behind the names... Anyways, to find me, the company is SequoiaDIGITAL and the booth is 1339.
There will also be a kickin' contest/giveaway- email me for details (as I don't really want this to be a commercial post)...

some things i'll be taking a close look at (if anyone has any suggestions, please feel free) are the:
New Neve mastering console by Legacy. looks sweet
The new Weiss DNA box, hopefully it'll be up and running.
The Focal monitors. checked then out last year but they weren't playing anything. I'm familiar with the parent company JMLabs which sound nice.
The Apogee rosetta 200. looks like a nice little box.
Sadie and SonicHD. I hear that Sonic is going to announce an OSX version. maybe Native? I can only wish.
Emagic. to encourage them to come out with an OSX version of waveburner pro.
Spectrafoo to check out their new OSX version.
Of coarse Sequoia to enter the giveaway and see what a PC can do. just kidding.
digidesign to tell them they suck for not supporting legacy products anymore.
Alesis to ask them why their masterlink coverters sound worse than my $100 cd players converters.

The cool part of the Sequoia stuff will be to see the new versio
The cool part of the Sequoia stuff will be to see the new version of the software in action - Version 8 looks really cool. The new algorithmix plugs will have their official release (for Sequoia at least) at this AES- the Linear Phase EQ is one of the best sounding digital EQs I've heard (hardware or software). Their restoration plugins are almost up to the level of Cedar (at a fraction of the price).
Personally, the things I want to see are the new Digidesign live sound console (and the new control surface, too), the new Euphonix controller. The rest of the time I have to look at gear will be lusting after the cool new stuff (and old, cool stuff) that is there. :P It has been awhile since I've been to one of these trade shows...

After all, it's what they all use in Hollywood! they say at Lavry Eng. and the EU distributer... the tech support disapoint me as they wouldn't even write back to me when i had questions about the Gold Channel!
Enough about that.
Maybe I should take the trip over and have a nice discusion with them...?

I haven't shot the EQ out against a Weiss box, but that is the only one where I may doubt... It really is pretty amazing what Algorithmix has done (I wouldn't have believed it either). BTW, I'm not the only person to have said this either- Alan Silverman's upcoming review has similar comments (and he owns Weiss, too)...
As for the Cedar comment... I believe Cedar is probably still better (the Cambridge system really is awesome), but once again, this software is pretty awesome. I have heard how it was used to restore the new re-release of Disney's Mary Poppins soundtrack and there is some stuff that is nothing short of amazing. It is still missing a de-buzz algorithm and a few other things, but the whole set (including reNOVAtor) is about what 1 Cedar plug costs on SADiE.
The new generation of Algorithmix stuff is not like Sound Laundry and the waves plugins...
