Hi,
getting a bit confused here. want to upgrade my souped up G3 DT (XLR8 G4 500)with an extra external harddisk (for audio) but I will stay at OS 9.2 for sure..My question:
-is USB 2.0 suitable for OS 9.2 at all? Most pci to usb 2.0 cards are specified for OSX only.
-What would be the preference anyway: FW or USB 2.0?
thanks for your answers,
Macmod

From what I glean, Firewire has less processor overhead in read/write operations, so even though USB 2 is 'rated' faster than FW 1394a, the latter is faster overall.
And that doesn't even take 1394b into account. But 1394b is OS X only.
