Hey Opus on the virtual memory setting recommendation, do you do the same for both your system and audio drive? And, why that setting? Does that not limit the size of your swap file vs either a larger setting or windows managed? (BTW, regarding your hometown, I knew it was one of those North Shore seaside towns. They're all the same to us South Shore folks!) Thanks again!

Ok, straight and simple here...
Do not use any virtual memory for the audio drive..absolutely no need for that. Plain and simple.
OS drive(C Drive) is where you do a custom size making it 384 min and max.
Audio drive...no paging.

Keep the VM on the OS drive. I've said it before..with XP you don't need a large VM setting...XP handles memory in a different way so that it's not needed. Letting windows manage your swap is bad since it uses any available free space on the drive, expands and contracts as needed ...these two issues right there cause fragmentation of the worst kind!
Setting the swap to min and max makes it use the outer part of the disk which is the fastest access time for the drive in general.
Make sure you defrag after changing the VM so to reimage the drive so to speak
