First off, I LOVE this desk. Just got it a few days ago, and it is GREAT to get my hands on faders and really nice external EQ again. I can get a better mix in half the time. However, I am having one pesky problem that's driving me crazy and I'm hoping for some help. I am working in Logic Pro 9.1.8 with a ZED R16 (Allen & Heath). I have gotten everything up and running FROM my DAW, however, I cannot get any signal to register coming back in. I have tried everything that I know to do. I have set the ITB channel to 17/18, enabled dig send etc. Anyone with any experience who may be able to tell me what is going on would be greatly appreciated. I'm beginning to wonder if something is wrong with the dig output on my desk. Thanks in advance!

I take it you're talking about the digital outputs of the ZED and not the ZED's analog outputs?
If that's what you meant, the only easy way I know to rule out the ZED is to try a different computer/DAW or FW cable.
Is this a new ZED or used?
If it works on another DAW and computer then it's Logic, if it does the same thing then it could be the ZED.
The technical way would require a digital oscilloscope to look for the digital signal coming out of the ZED or not.
Like I've said before the ZED uses two separate 8 channel A/D chips which are split between the mono channels 1-8 and 9-16. These also have 2 separate D/A chips in the same configuration.
The main master 2 channel (red faders) uses a single 2 channel stereo chip which does both A/D and D/A in one package (codec chip). If you can check to see if either one of those directions work it could be an indication it's OK.
I would test that by taking any pre-recorded track in Logic and assigning it to 17/18 Main out and then press the DIG Master to L/R button in the monitor section and see if you hear it. If that doesn't work then that could be a clue that chip has failed. It wouldn't hurt to check all the 16 digital channels In/Out to just to make sure you don't have something set wrong in Logic.
