Got a meeting with a futur client yesterday.
First thing he said was; I want to record Acoustic guitar and Vocal both with Shure sm57 at a distance...!
I said, well I respect that and I'm up for the challenge but could we try with figure of 8 condensers and a ribbon too ?
This was a moment to remember, did you have that kind of pre-minded customers ? share the stories, it'll be fun ! ;)

On the subject of midi expectations: the first time me and my friend decided to rent a sequencer, it took us half an hour of pushing play to realise there was no synth module include and the sequencer was only made to control external synth !! :ROFLMAO:

Oh sure... lots of them over the years, I've probably forgotten more than I could ever remember.
I do recall having a client who had just gotten her first midi workstation; she was new to midi, and who, because she had "cracked the code" on how to successfully record anything, told me in no uncertain terms that she wanted to insert a tempo change at a certain point in her song , which sounded fine to me - right up until I discovered that she wanted me to insert 1 measure of a tempo change by 1 BPM.
The song was a moderately paced track, probably around 110 or so... and she was absolutely convinced that by me adding that change, by inserting a BPM change of 1 BPM slower - for just one measure - she would get a result of .. and get this.... a more "human feel" to it.
When I told her that no one would ever hear a tempo change that small for just 1 measure, that in order to even measure the difference, we would have to lay out a click track and then play the 1 measure back relative to that, she told me I was being " difficult to work with". I assured her that to the contrary, I was more than happy to insert the change she wanted, but that there were other, more effective ways to add a human sense of feel to a song, ways that were far more noticeable and effective than by simply changing one measure by one BPM.
