It's great building your own because so many parts can be reused.
I just ordered a new Zalman heatsink/fan because the stock one is a bit noisy for my tastes.
I also ordered a CAD M9. I can buy these wholesale through my store so I got it cheap.
Also had 2 Adam P11 monitors arrive today without their cables. The cable box got sidetracked in the mail. Sure hope they arrive tomorrow so I can hear the Adams.

I've sold a lot of my old gear to a guy who's setting up a new studio. He's hired me to set up his computer so I've been busy with both his and mine. I just finished tweeking mine yesterday. I'm going to replace a few components to get the noise down but that's about it for my own system.

So did you guys just swap out the system drives without re-configuring?

I upgraded from 98SE to XP Pro. I used the backup program in windows to back up my audio programs from my system harddrive to the non-system harddrive. Then I reformated and did a clean install of XP. It was probably a waste of time doing the backup however because the programs needed to be reinstalled anyway. I'm using the same hard drives. I didn't have to touch the other drive and all of my recorded audio that was there remained intact- no problems.
