As long as I work on a "new mix" it's easy to go back to a certain point and put all faders into "write" (trim or absolute). I use the command JOIN.

But after I've saved the mix (using END) once it's impossible. JOIN won't work. I believe it's because I'm in update mode but I don't see the point. Why can't I put all faders into "write"?

Is there some workaround or trick to solve this problem?

You need to get and read the manual.
Put the faders into Absolute. After a new nem mix the default join is Trim. There is a preference you can toggle that will put join mixes into Absolute...for the channels and another pref. to do the same thing for the master fader

Try "GO TO- MIX", hit the little button that changes the lights from green to red on the channels you want in absolute, hit "EXECUTE" and you should be stylin'.

There is no need to hit the "JOIN" key as every version of the software since the "E" version does that automatically.

Also... if you want to do it on 'the fly'... as the mix is rolling just hit [I'm doint this from memory... which has seen a lot of drugs over the years] "UPDATE" which will pop you back into whatever mode you were in before you saved the last mix.
