Hello people!
I am about to buy a new reverb unit and I has planned to buy A Lexicon mpx550 400usd and an M*one XL 600usd. But I guy in town offered me a Yamaha digital reverberator Pro R3 for 4900 usd.
Is the Yamaha a better alternative than the others. I dont need the digital ins and outs cause I use a analog mixer. but which unit should be the best of these 3. I know that the Yamaha is an older one but was good for its price back than. But are the new Lexicon and TC electronics better at the lower prise.
The prices is not correct in dollars but I calulated them into approximte usd to make it iasy to compare. The prices is here in sweden
The deals I got are for tomorrow so what do you recommend me to buy.

has a list price for the ProR3 (New) of only 1,364 USD and it's on sale for 1,099 USD - did you mean 490 usd?
I too have never used the Yamaha - so cannot speak for quality..........

But I've been looking into other units for a variety, and I would go with the TC M-One XL.
I've read, a head to head comparison on the TC and Lexicon MPX 500 and the TC came out on top. Both because of the simple to operate factor and sound quality. And also, TC seam to be on top of the game right now, with their new [[url=http://[/URL]="http://www.tcelectr…"]Reverb 6000[/]="http://www.tcelectr…"]Reverb 6000[/] .
From what I've gathered on the web, the TC algorithms are becoming a favorite in the business.
A friend of mine works at the best equipped studio here in Iceland and they just got this Reverb 6000 unit, and for them it came from heaven :D .

The lexicon sounds like a lexicon.it has a particular tonality to it that permeates all things it is used on.Like a brand.
The yamaha reverbs are very easy to control and simple to use.
The TC has the best sound of all of them.Its inobtrusive when you want it to be yet it can impart serious heavy verbs where needed.It can also do a sweetening with air under the verb.It also has a lot more things in it than just verbs.

If you are recording into a computer I would consider getting a TC Powercore card. A bit more expensive but you will quickly appreciate the advantage of having a solid quality reverb (actually 8 of them :roll: ) inside the machine. The TC ClassicVerb competes with (or even exceeds) the quality of a fair number of external hardware units.

2. Lexicon are probabbly jsut about the most experianced at making great digital reverbs.
3. TC makes good stuff too.
