New Mixer

Hi there,
I'm looking to branch out my home recording set-up.
I will mainly be recording an acoustic guitar/vocals but would like the option to record my band.
I'm purchasing a macbook shortly with logic pro and am in need of a mixer.
I have found two that I am very interested in as they both split the inputs onto seperate tracks in the DAW via USB, however I am not sure which would be the better purchase as one is analog and one is digital.
Does anybody have any experience with either of these mixers?

Alesis MULTIMIX 16 (Also, which would be a better option, the USB 2.0 or the firewire)
