I am curious,
Is English your first language? How old are you? What is your background in audio?
Your questions are usually one sentence long, make no real sense and are written in what one would call "broken English" or more to the point "childish English" If you are really interested in leaning let us know some more about you and if you have problems with the English language tell us up front or most people will regard you as a troll who is just looking to add some confusion to a very good website. Thanks.

no I am a grown man, I assumed that my question was simple enough to answer. Ok let me try again. Dolby Digital is five seperate mono channels. I am using stereo files in sound forge which of the tools can you use to create this effect? Is there a trick that will make my home theater system think it's playing the sperate channels just with a stereo file.

when you are playing the stereo disc in your home theater, just select dolby prologic for playback... voila' ...surround !
...your mileage may vary !
Ok... here's a quick formula for a "poor man's" surround mix.
I use pro tools not sound forge... but assuming they are similar...
a. for the rear channels:
1. duplicate the stereo tracks... high pass filter at 120 Hz
2. add reverb -or- phase invert these duplicates
3. assign them to your rear speakers
b. for the center channel
1. duplicate the stereo tracks... high pass filter at 120 Hz
2. pan them to center or mono
3. assign them to your center speaker
c. for the LFE or Sub
1. duplicate the stereo tracks... LOW pass filter at 120 Hz
2. pan them to center or mono
3. assign them to your LFE or Sub Woofer
adjust levels of all 6 channels to taste.
bounce 6 discrete channels to disc.
encode to AC3... burn a disc
play the disc on home theater...
I know this approach is simplistic but it might work for your purposes.
!!!! Now can we move this forum on to some other topics ?????

Don't feed the TROLLS
RO is becoming the primer site of it's kind on the internet. All you need to do to confirm that is to look at the rash of "TROLL" postings in the past few weeks.
By placing posts that are redundant and stupid in nature, asking and answering their own questions and intentionally using bad language skills, these individuals attempt to spoil the "RO experience" for the rest of the community .... or at least, present the server with additional bandwidth demands ...
PLEASE be served notice,
I am going to simply delete these posts from now on ... if you contribute to these threads, do not be upset when they are deleted. I will be starting with any posts or threads posted by identified troll, "Audiolover71" regardless of whether the content has something to offer or not, .... but I will not limit myself to only those. Anything that looks "whack" is out .... it's time to clean house so everyone can enjoy themselves without undue distractions.
