Hello everyone!
For the past few hours I've been trying to replicate the hollowish vintage sound found in old 50s/60s vinyl records. I've been using Izotope Vinyl (sadly enough without warp, as I use the VST version) and low+highpass filters. It's still not quite there though...
Does anyone have any suggestions? Do I maybe have to boost any frequency ranges? Are there any other VSTs that might prove useful? Certain reverb settings maybe?
Thanks in advance!

Trying to recreate the whole sound with one plugin is basically impossible.
Sorry!
Thanks for you reply!
Do you maybe have a suggestion for a combination of plugins and/or settings?

Your solution is going to be hardware, not software; vintage mics, preamps, real (reel!) tape, etc. Also the mindset; recording almost all of the basic tracks in one pass, allowing small mistakes and "out-of-tune" to be part of the finished mix. Even the right guitars, amps, drums and keyboards, not to mention how they are played.

he wants to know what frequencies on the old recordings are more pronounced...
im not too sure, but i'd lower the treble a little and some of the high-mids, but maybe boost the low mids.

I'm getting pretty close using a 250hz-3khz bandpass filter along with izotope vinyl. Some plugin to introduce a bit of mild distortion and smearing would be nice though...the distortion in Izotope Vinyl is rather harsh. Any ideas? Thanks!
