I read your thread on Isotope Nectar 2 as I recently aquired this as well as Ozone 6 and Alloy 2, I'm looking into whether its worth picking up the Voicelive rack for the added vocal effects processing. It looks pretty impressive although I'm no fan of the touch screen technology used on the front panel.
I am pretty impressed with Nectar 2 s' capability although I'm still finding my way around it to a degree.

@Sean G i have a voice live 2 and a voice live touch. Hardware in these cases work much better than Nectar 2. I have Nectar 2, I do like it but I always feel the voice live touch ( same as the rack) gives a more hands on more live real sound quicker. The only challenge you may face is using it in route. I would suggest only using it as an aux route, not via usb. Only use it via usb if it's your only interface you have :).

Just my honest opinion.

Thanks for the advice Tony, That was the plan to use it as an aux route. I have also made a few calls to dealers here in Sydney, Australia today to find out more about.
I was puzzled when I noticed it runs at 12 volt DC . I suppose the upside is it will help ease power consumption.

I have a buddy who uses a Telicon VoiceLive for his live solo act; he likes and uses it a lot for his gigs.

The only thing that I've noticed about it - and this might have been only on an older model ( I don't recall the model number) and has perhaps been upgraded since - was that there was no discreet output for the direct vocal.
But, this model was being used by another friend of mine in his home studio, and it's been several years ago, so this might be a feature that has been included on models since.

From the rear view it appears there are only L/R outputs.
I'm primarily going to use it for vocal effects via aux route, and maybe for the odd guitar effect but not necessarily simultaniously.

Thanks for the heads up Donny, I didn't consider the discreet output for the vocal.

The routing out of the outputs is handled by the settings, and from memory you can split various parts of the signal. Check later versions of the OS it runs, they added / changed features over time. My approach personally is to get a engineer version on a track (using the auto level comp etc it has. or none), if I want a mostly dry voice, then do the harmony/wet one to another. Either way, you end up with a really nice processed voice.

Well its taken 3 weeks and it finally arrived today....
I have to say in the short time that Iv'e played around with it this afternoon I am impressed with the vocal effects so far.
The vocal harmonies sound pretty good, theres a few hundred vocal presets as standard and 400 programable user presets.

Has anybody who uses the voicelive rack had an issue with setting the key in Hardtune? It doesn't matter what key I set a patch to, I STORE the patch, and then as soon as I change channels and go back to it, the key is always reset to C. It's the most frustrating thing.

Vyzor (now defunct) and MIDI Quest make editors for lots of MIDI gear including the TC Helicon range, but is there an editor for the Rack mentioned above? I can't get my Rack to communicate with my Vyzor Voicelive app (despite someone online telling me it works for them) and I also don't see this hardware in the MIDI QUEST instrument list. 

Has anyone using the VoiceLive Rack encountered difficulties setting the key in Hardtune? Regardless of the key I set a patch to and store it, upon returning to the channel, it consistently resets to C. It's incredibly frustrating.
