Hey guys... here's one for you..
So I recently purchased a PreSonus 16.4.2 and studio one pro... Just wondering.. Can I use the faders to control the faders in studio one.. and if so.. HOW ?
Any help would be appreciated as always, hope you're all well.
Thanks!

Thanks Bos,
Dan, I haven't activated Studio One but I think you can do this. Are you able to do it in Capture? If not, something is wrong in your config.
dvdhawk has spent more time on it than me now. He's used Studio One as well. I pass it onto Dave :)
There are quite a few excellent videos online that are very helpful.
ipad is something you may want to invest in as well!

Hey guys. Cheers for the replies. Yeah I can do it in capture but that's obviously specifically designed for the studiolive to capture live sessions.. Studio One appears to be a totally different ballgame. (I actually bought that desk on your advice audiokid, and I love it! Sounds lovely.) But yeah.. Guess I'll have to wait for someone who can hit the nail on the head for me.
Cheers for the responses :)!

That's great news, I'm so happy you love it! I did some research for you and you aren't the only one asking and hoping for this. You'd think it would work but apparently it does for Capture but not "yet" for StudioOne. Here is a thread that may be worth reading and following:

Sorry I didn't have time to respond sooner, but Boswell (as usual) had it right anyway.
The PreSonus Support site answers [[url=http://[/URL]="http://support.pres…"]that question[/]="http://support.pres…"]that question[/] very succinctly, "The StudioLive series mixers are not control surfaces for DAW applications."
Although the StudioLive was not designed to be a Hardware User Interface. At a glance, it seems like they could offer at least limited Control Surface functions. All of the SL24's primary controls (sliders and knobs) are data encoders - rather than standard potentiometers, and the software allows mapping of external hardware controllers. I'm sure there's much more to it than meets the eye, but it seems conceivable to me. I'd trade that functionality for the VSL functions any day.
I have wondered how much it would add to the cost to implement HUI capability and/or motorized faders.
I've been using the StudioLive 24 with both Capture and StudioOne for location recording. (and the SL24 for plain live mixing last night). They all do what they're supposed to do quite nicely. It's a nice system for the capture and record functions, but when all is said and done you end up doing your final mixdown with a mouse. (for now)
If there's a work-around, I haven't found it.
Best of luck.

Ooooh ok! Whilst a little disappointing, I'm glad that is set in stone for me now at least. I hate when I have to sit and wonder about bottom line stuff when I'm in the middle of trying to work it all out anyway.
Thanks for the help guys, yeah the system is pretty wicked, they will probably bring out a software update at some point to make it a control surface I'm sure.
Fingers crossed hey? :)
Thanks again everyone.

I don't think that Presonus has released any software for using
I don't think that Presonus has released any software for using the 16.4.2 as a control surface, but it is just a matter of software (internal to the mixer and also the PC device driver). They have software that runs on the PC to control the mixer, but that's the other way round from what you are looking for.
audiokid is very enthusiastic about his Presonus mixer, so maybe he has more inside information.
