Hey, i just across this site and thought i will give it a go.
I have just started to use cool edit pro, i just use cool edit to record my vocals onto a beat.

I put the beat into cool edit
under it i record my vocals but the problem i am having is even if my mic is turned off the beat is still catching onto the recording does anyone know how i can record without the beat catching on its not through the mic though its through the computer.
