Ok -I know this is going to sound stupid to most of you experienced recording artist/producers/engineers etc. But - what is a warm sound vs a thin or bright sounding mic?

Also - can you email me or allow me to download some sample MP3 or wav files with examples of what warm and bright/thin etc. If not, can you direct me to a link with some samples files - I appreciate it.

As far as mics go - my budget right now is $250.00. I just purchased a Focusrite trakmaster preamp.

I am going to use the mic for female/male vocals - R&B/Gospel/Rap/Pop - and to use on chimes, cow bells, acoustic guitar etc.
