Current set:
RODE K2
SP C4 set
2 x KEL HM-1s
tons of SM57s and 58s
D112
Based on this I'd like to get an ATM4033 or a Groove Tubes GT44 to use on guitar cabs, vocals etc. And also for snare, but I don't think thats a good choice even when considering it - I just don't have a semipro snare mic yet.
But given the set above, and the fact that the most I will ever need to use together is 10 drum mics, would I be better with another HM-1 for a tom mic, cos otherwise I end up with C4 overheads, D112 kick, SM57(s) for snare, HM-1 on 2 toms (based on the fact Kurt says they are a bit like U87s which are recommended as great tom mics, if you can afford it) - and am short one tom mic - another D112 for the floor tom? Or a D6, which gives me 2 kick options when I only use 4 drum mics and Recorderman's technnique?
Or is there a third option which will improve my snare sound, be good for vocals when the K2 isn't, and be a good guitar cab 1m mic?
Thoughts appreciated,
J
I think a Sennheiser MD421 could be useful...
