He's the best. If you own some of his mods I cant imagine that you arent a preferred customer. Call him again and if he cant fit you in ask for his recommendation for a tech.

A misunderstanding (and misrepresentation) of gigantic proportions. I do not recall ever having been contacted by an owner of a modified mic and giving such response.

It would also be contrary to my long-time iron rule: any mic with my name tag ('Modified by Klaus Heyne') automatically goes to the front of the line for servicing. Not treating preferentially those who believe in what I do, and who have spent good money for it would be suicidal for a guy whose only coin is his name.

We have been servicing all kinds of vintage microphones over 40 years as well as having our own microphones built.

However, I do not have any VF14 tubes if you have a original U47 and want to keep it stock if the VF14 has failed.

We are 4 hours east of Seattle by car just above Omak Washington in Summerland, BC.

No issues with sending a mic that has my custom modification sticker to another vendor for repair. Competition is always good!

Just keep in mind that at that point I can no longer honour any good-will warranties or perform services free of charge or at a reduced rate (which is usually the case when revisiting previously serviced/modified mics.)

Once another service provider has worked on any of these mics, I will kindly ask the repair vendor or owner to remove the original sticker, as the mic at that point loses its original certification.
