They show up every once in a while on Ebay. I have seen them go for anywhere between $1800 to $2200 USD - but you have to be patient. You could also consider an IFET7 from Soundeluxe, I don't know how much they actually sound like a U47 FET but that is the mic that they are trying to duplicate. Hope that helps, cheers!

Interesting I just did shoot out with an iFet7 and a U87ai last night. I know it's not a FET47 BUT, soundelux considers the 'V' mode a version of the U87 and the I mode very similar to the fet47. Most people say the ifet7 in I mode is closer to the FET47 than the iFet7 in 'V' mode is to a U87ai. Make sense??? I'm already confusing myself :P
It was very similar to the u87ai. The difference being the ifet7 had a lower output, the U87 was a little softer in sound with a touch of "sizzle" in the highend. The ifet7 was slightly more forward and more defined in the upper mids. I would say that the U87 was slightly more feminine in sound as opposed to a "slightly" more aggressive sounding ifet7 in V mode.
What the hell does this have to do with a FET47??? OK what I'm saying is that it does a pretty good U87 style - different yes, but similar and since the ifet7 is known to do a much better FET47 in I mode - well my guess would be that it's pretty good.
:P A stretch in logic - but what the hell.
