Does anyone else here get Audio Media? I just picked mine up at the post office and I was surprised when a CD rom slipped out of the plastic bag it was mailed in this month. I took a look at it and on it was printed Rycote microphone data 2003 Light Edition. hmmmm?
So I slipped it into the DVD drive and went to the My Computer folder on the desktop and clicked on drive E and there it was, I opened it up and it's an encyclopedia of microphones! Cool! There are listings for 57 different manufactures and you can click on them and see data on the various models, contact information, a history of microphones, a mic applications guide, a section on the interpretation of microphone data sheets and a section labeled getting techno physical; an argument for the need to understand technical principals of microphones. I have poked around it for a few minutes as of this writing and this looks like something that is going to be a valuable tool for me considering the inquiries we get here at RO. I am sure I will be referencing this disc in the next year quite a lot. I only hope that they send me another one next year! Thanks Rycote! Kurt
