Hmm..what you could do is go into Recycle and change the tempo to match the Nuendo project tempo...My machine isnt setup so I cant do any testing just as of yet!! I'm dying to try the new release as well!! Also there is the option of locking the tempo of a certain track to it's own tempo or to the projects tempo right on the track itself..it looks like a little lock symbol if I am right

I'll check each track's tempo and try again. Another way to go is using the much easier Acid and export a new file with the tempo from the Nuendo project and import it within Nuendo... and guess there must be more options, but if it's a bug we're trying to alternatively solve, please Steinberg fix it.

My mistake: Nuendo does match the incoming REX file's tempo to the current tempo within Nuendo's project. What you can not do is readjust the tempo in Nuendo expecting the REX file to do it at the same time, cause it stays the way it was imported. What you can do is readjust the tempo of Nuendo's project and re-import the REX file to match again. An upgrade should maybe include a dialog box asking you if you want the opened REX files to match the new tempo in case of readjustment... and not have to re-import them each time.

Again my mistake... you knew I was talking BS and you didn't tell me! I admit, the ReCycle stuff is OK... I didn't know about time based and tempo based audio tracks :D

OK, I made tempo changes affect the speed of a rex file, by having it on a tempo based audio track, BUT... still have no luck on puting those basic 4/4 beats to the right tempo. How do I deal with sensitivity or whatever within Recycle, to have the file correctly sliced for matching Nuendo's tempo? Is there a trick? I use to have sensitivity at 80, like the manual says, but definetely it's not matching the tempo in Nuendo.

Sensitivity has nothing to do with tempo...sensitivity deals with transient identification..how well it finds those attack points...tempo is adjusted right by where you adjust bar length..

You're right. Thanks for the input. I got some simple 4/4 loops which I understand to have 2 bars of 4 beats each. I'm also exporting a second rex version of the same loop asuming 4 bars of 4 beats. Imported both into Nuendo's audio tempo based tracks and abled the click sound to compare. Both were exported with sensitivities so every hi hat hit was recognized. The results is still bad, not matching. I'll keep experimenting, at least to see what difference of tempo I'm hearing. Thanks again. If you know about something I could be missing, please reply.

Ok, I found what was wrong with my settings: I was reading the bar & beats as how many bars of how many beats within each bar there were. The "+" sign which I didn't see in the first place explains my failure: It's how many bars + how many beats are there within the loop, so we can set more complex rythms. I was writing bars "2", beats "4" (which actually means 3 bars at 4/4) when I should write bars "2", beats "0".

Everything is now fine with tempo matching using ReCycle & Nuendo. I'm glad again it was my fault... but there's still one of those weird buggies: I found Nuendo sometimes doesn't play back the last snare hit of one of the rex clips I tested. Sometimes it plays, sometimes it doesn't. Well, bugs are just bugs. We can't explain or solve everything.
