So this is going to be kind of a confusion question. I am wondering different peoples methods of recording a full album of say a rock band. I suppose there are different ways to approach this on the computer.

A- you could open one session up and track each song in whatever order you would like. This would be like recording to tape. Every change you make, say your bass drum sound will be applied to every song instantly. Easy as pie. But say on one track you wanted a diff drum kit sound. Well now you have a bit of a problem because now you have to automate things or create new tracks.

B- have each song in its own session which would require you to mix every song individually. Now I guess you could mix one song and and then save as a template and go back to all the other tracked songs and apply accordingly. This way seems not practical and if you altered one session you would be screwed.

So what method do YOU recomend
