Hey,
For some reason my VST locations are scattered between 2 hard drives - although they all work, i want to make it neater but putting them all in one location.
How can i move them so that they will work in Nuendo - i see no where to change where nuendo looks for the dll to make sure the plugins work, so if i jut moved them it would not find the dll anymore.

Most of us have multiple VST folder locations based on certain software's placement criteria. You can then take other programs and include those other VST folders by directing your current program to those other VST folders in the other programs. Not all of which will work however. For instance, Nuendo's surround plug-in won't necessarily work in Adobe Audition 3. It may actually wreak havoc when you try to direct Audition to incorporate Nuendo's VST folder. You will then need to deactivate each one that hangs up Audition from fully booting. It can turn into a cluster f***. Generally you let the program place its plug-ins where it wants. You can then take the chance of adding others.

dude if it works dont mess with it. i often wonder why when installing plugins you get them in folders in the progam files folder or they just show up as dll's in the VST folder in Nuendo 4 main folder. ithink all you hae to do is go to "plugin information" and hit "update" and have nuendo grab your plugs, go to "VST 2x plugin paths" and make sure your paths are there, and then "update plugin information" and then look at your list of plugs in the screen to see if all your plugs are there.
i wouldnt worry about their location as much as if they even showup at all. follow those steps and you should be all good

Usually there is some version of an option to add or remove VST directory. Search the manual. I downloaded it and found it in about three shakes and a sip of Scotch. Or was that one shake and three sips of Scotch. I found it in the Operation Manual under the chapter Audio Effects, sub-chapter installing and managing effects and plugins. Pg 186. ^_^
Now, if you use more than one DAW like myself, you might rather have a generic VST folder within your Documents folder. Then you direct each DAW to look for additional VST's there. For me, Reaper 64, Tracktion3, Audition3, and PT-M7 all look in the generic folder in addition to their respective stock dll's.
