what kind of recorder? how many tracks?

it's never going to sound like it wasn't recorded to a cassettes, in a church, because that's how and where it was recorded. Presonus studio one, or cukos reaper will get ya going. you should be able to find a noise/hiss reduction pluggin free for them if they don't have it already. and you can use the eq's and comrpession to help bring the best out of the recording. but don't expect drastic differences, your about %85-90 there to the final products sound already.

Yes. Find a CD of your favorite music. Put a white sticky label on it. Put your name on that white label.

Seriously, you can try some noise reduction software and a little mastering, but you're going to be almost entirely constrained by the limitations of the cassette format.

Izotope RX 2 is a good one, but know that noises will lowered by filters who will reduce the frequencies of the noise therefor reducing the original signal
