Below is a link to a really great book. 'Modern Recording Techniques' by David Miles Huber & Robert E. Runstein. It's practical, extreemly informative, and covers just about anything you need to know. A good book for anyone to have just for reference. Check it out. I have a copy and it's been helpful several times over.
Take care.
