I am building a home studio and need some advice on what pieces to buy. I need the computer, DAW, FM synth, audio interface, studio effects, guitar effects, instrument mic, large cardoid mic, a guitar, drum software which is compatible to be played with a Roland Vdrum series TD-3, a tube compressor and accessories.
So far, what I've got is:

Apple iMac 2.6 Ghz 320 GB HD 4 Gig RAM

Audio-Technica ATM250DE Instrument Mic
Gibson Studio Guitar
Steven Slate Drums Signature Platinum Series Drum Software
G-Major T.C. Electronics Guitar Processor

ART Pro VLA II Tube Compressor

I could also use a cheap bass amp and some wild effects. It all has to come in under budget, of course. My budget is $8 grand tops.
