I picked one of these kits up recently, I recorded a Martin D1 with the cardioid capsule at the 12th fret pointed towards the neck/body joint. The sound was well balanced, and while people say that this mic is on the darker side for a pencil condenser, I only had to ad a couple dB of 6k to get it to cut in a fairly dense mix.
I tried out the LD capsule on my voice and I thought it sounded pretty beefy, but didn't do much testing beyond that. I checked the Omni capsule out just to see if it worked, and it was at least 3dB lower in output compared to the cardioid capsules.I haven't had a chance to mess with the heater voltage yet.

Have you had a chance to try it out more now? It would be interesting to hear your thoughts on recording piano & overheads with it!
