I have the roland VS-840GX (digital 8-track) and am thinking of invisting in a computer dedicated solely to audio. Since the roland has digital out's for Coaxial (S/P DIF and EIAJ CP-1201) and Optical, would it be possible to record on the roland, then send to the computer without having to convert (A/D D/A) twice? Which way would be best? The roland unit also has MTC so could I do this and still keep each track seperate, but in the sync with eachother?
