connection help

hello-
here's the situation. i'm running a powerbook and have been using a MOTU 896 and 828 as my interface. i just got an A/D card for my ISA 428 and would like to use the A/D from the ISA and use the 896 purely as a firewire hookup.

i hooked both units up using lightpipe, but have no idea what's going on. should i be using AES?

Have you set the MOTU to clock from ADAT? You will need to do this to get a properly clocked system. Also set the inputs in the MOTU Control panel to ADAT as well and you should be good to go.

Reading the owners manual on each device is a surefire way in finding out what is going on!
