HELP!
I have been working on a Pro Tools / Mac workstation for the past 9mos. Instrument tracking is complete. I have been trying to accomplish Final MIX's in Pro Tools w/Sub-Professional results (consistently)! The bands and I am VERY DISAPPOINTED thus far. What can I do to get the Pro-edge that I thought I was buying into? (Duy pluginsalready being used!)
I am having a hard time convincing all involved that outboard gear is not necessary - but now I'm beginning to have doubts. null

I would like to stay digital once the recording is digital.

I am hoping for additional musically pleasing TDM plugins to be made available for the new HD system...
Will an external clock help with the new PT HD system? I think that some of the dull quality may be related to jitter.

Hi Mixed Up,
Try This:
Make 4 master faders (not Subgroups btw)
assign drums to master fader 1
other lo end stuff to master fader 2
guitars to 3
vocals to 4
if you need more add another master fader but try and keep it down to 4.
assign the outs of each master fader to 2 inputs on your mackie.
You should end up with 4 stereo subs on your mackie.
If you do this I will guarantee your mix will sound a little better. Very suprised no one mentioned this.
OK the mackie is not the best console in the world, but i would still bet that will be a better sound than you are getting right now.
Try it, you have nothing to lose. :)
