I finally tried out Dynaudio BM6A and they were great... I'm really thinking about picking up a pair. My only concern is that I have clients that like listening to their music LOUD. My control room isn't all that big (16' x 12') but I am just wondering if the BM6A are going to be powerful enough. Any opinions?

Hi Krou,
I'm still looking for more feedback from this post but could you email me the "best price" on the Dynaudio's. I tried to PM you but I couldn't get it to work.

I've had mine for about 4 years or more. They are a fantastic monitor especially for smaller rooms like yours. I have an 01v balanced outs driving mine at +4 and, without being able to talk of decibels, they go pretty loud. But the interesting thing is that don't really sound 'loud' because the signal is so clean. I usually work with mine at about 75% max volume (driven by the desk) which I would suspect would be around the 85dB mark. I have given mine an absolute thrashing (especially up until the time when I realised how much bottom end I was feeding them that I couldn't actually hear in the room). As a result I have rolled off the bottoms in mine as part of general room setting up. If you get a pair you should pay some attention to this aspect.
When I was buying my gear I was choosing between Genelecs and the BM6as. I chose the BMs because they sounded more balanced and fuller than the Genelecs, whcih can be augmented by their subwoofer, but you can't just switch the sub in and out - you have to mess with dip switches etc, so at the end of the day I thought the BMs were the best, and I'm very happy that I chose them.

RY,
Been using my BM6A's for 4 1/2 years, my current control room is 17'x15' and the Dynaduio's are quite adequate. Previously had Meyer HD-1's which were very nice especially in the low end which I rememeber goes down to 32hz but they are far under powered overall for my taste.
The passive version (BM6's) with a high end amp could be the answer for higher output...anyone in here have that setup?

I often work with a pair of BM 15's and a sub. The Dyn Audios certainly won't satisfy "rock ears" who want to sense pressure.. but I have to say that working with either BM 6's or 15's for long sessions leaves me significantly less fatigued than working similar hours with a lot of other studio monitors [brands not named!].

That's a small room? Man, I have 11'X12' to work with!!!
I had to settle for some KRK V6 Series 2 the other day and they're quite lovely, but the minute I can get the $1500 it takes for a pair of BM6A's, I'm doing it. They're absolutely gorgeous, much nicer than Genelecs in the same range (1030A), IMO...
As for loudness, I've also heard you have to push them a little more than other monitors, but in a room that size, I can't see volume being a problem at all, perhaps others with more experience will tell you differently.
PM me if you want the best price on them....
