Hey angrynote
Glad to oblige...just send me some Polomints as payment ok? lol!!!
Anyhue....look at the get yer P4's(sorry AMD) post....we discuss the new P4 1.4 that can be overclock to 2.2 without having to shell out the big bucks for the 2.2Ghz!! Plus the new Sis chipsets and the new Asus board combo seems to be the way to go these days!! Fuck AMD and Via chipsets!! Intel is definately the way to go otherwise..I'm being daring for once and going to try out his new way of life!!!
Anyhue..the system you speced out is groovy!! Right now I'm not going to get into details due to time limitations..I'm mixing down some songs on my other machine and posting here and tryiong to do twenty things at once!!
Wish I had octopus arms!!

Angrynote...

Let's discuss this dithering issue a bit more here...

I have always used the UV22 dithering scheme because I have always heard it was much superior to everything else. I also own Sound Forge (and Wavelab), but have always gone back to Cubase for the dithering from 32-bit back down to 16-bit. I guess now I should probably try it both ways and compare the difference...anyone else with comments here??? Maybe this deserves a seperate thread as it is probably a good topic to pursue...
