i'm considering getting a new monitoring system. i currently work with Hafler TRM-8's - no sub and i'm having a hard time getting the bass right. i can get it but it usually takes me a couple trys before it nail it.

i had a chance to check out the 8200 series at AES and they seem like a really nice system with the calibration mic, software and the ability to save out presets for different listening positions.

i'm looking at a 2.1 system, either the 8230's or 8240's along with the 7260 sub. my room is not that big. the back wall is about 12 feet behind the monitors.

has anyone had a chance to work with these? i know they are pretty new on the market. i've always liked the sound of Genelecs but i've only heard them demoed and haven't actually done a mix with them.

any other recomendations i should consider in that price range or less?
